10:30, 27 December 2020 Hagiasophia2.jpg (file) 371 KB Kgf The Hagia Sophia in Istanbul Turkey, where a lot of things are wrong. This is shot using a Nikon 20 which is a very wide angle lens. It manages to capture a lot, but it does not look natural, things that are straight are visibly skewed, and it disturbs a lot. It is a good example of what you end up with most of the time if you do not have much experience with a very wide angle lens. 1
10:32, 27 December 2020 Nils.jpg (file) 537 KB Kgf Demonstrating that a very wide angle lens such as the Nikon 20 is actually very good lens to take pictures of people in tight and dark spaces. 1

12:33, 27 December 2020 Dear nose.jpg (file) 188 KB Kgf A macro shot using a Nikon 105 of a cute toy deer with a focus on the nose. At <kbd>f/3.5</kbd>, and close-up the depth of field is very small, so the eye is out of focus. 1
12:34, 27 December 2020 Deer f18.jpg (file) 306 KB Kgf A macro shot using a Nikon 105 of a cute toy deer with <kbd>f/18</kbd>. This close-up the depth of field is very small, so such small aperture is needed to get most of the subject in focus. 1
12:38, 27 December 2020 Shotglass far f3.jpg (file) 202 KB Kgf A shotglass, using a Nikon 105 at about 80cm, with <kbd>f/3</kbd>. Notice that the writing on the glass stays in depth of field and is in focus. 1
12:39, 27 December 2020 Shotglass far f18.jpg (file) 291 KB Kgf A shotglass, using a Nikon 105 at about 80cm, with <kbd>f/18</kbd>. With this aperture the depth of field is quite large and the background can be seen. 1
12:40, 27 December 2020 Shotglass near f4.jpg (file) 224 KB Kgf A shotglass, using a Nikon 105 at about 35cm, with <kbd>f/4</kbd>. With this aperture and at this distance the depth of field is very narrow, little of the writing is in focus. 1
12:41, 27 December 2020 Shotglass near f18.jpg (file) 311 KB Kgf A shotglass, using a Nikon 105 at about 35cm, with <kbd>f/18</kbd>. With this small aperture at this distance the depth of field is still narrow, compare to File:far_f3.jpg of the same glass at 80cm with <kbd>f/3</kbd>. 1

13:06, 27 December 2020 Tina atacama.jpg (file) 717 KB Kgf The cutest hedgehog in the universe posing in the Atacama desert in Chile. This is using a Nikon 10-24 and a very small aperture <kbd>f/29</kbd> to keep both the hedgehog and the background somewhat in focus. As a side note, at this aperture you can see the dust that has settled on the image sensor. Using small aperture and focusing close is the best way to see if your sensor/lens is clean. 1
11:44, 28 December 2020 Nikon20.jpg (file) 302 KB Kgf The Nikon 20, a very wide angle lens at <kbd>f/1.8</kbd> 1
