12 Megapixel Full frame
I do not own this camera, but I have access to it at my workplace. Very robust camera. The shutter count is not even 10'000 although it is more than 10 years old. This is a typical use if the owner is not taking it around al the time, and perhaps 5% of the lifetime of such a camera.
For this project when I was looking for a used camera to buy, I had a hard time not buying another one. They can be had for as little as 250, a ridiculously great value.
The problems
- No video
- Getting a bit older, after a while electronics/batteries will start failing
- Heavier camera

I write from my own experience. I ended up using mainly Nikon, so I am more familiar with this brand than others. See price for notes on pricing as well as photography related links.
